Özet

This study was performed to compare respond to surgical stimulus on application of sevoflurane in two different concentrations in children. ASA I group 3-11 years old forty patients were pre-medicated with midazolam. Induction of anaesthesia was maintained with 8 % sevoflurane in FiO2: 1.0. Succinylcholine (1 mg/kg) was administered and the trachea was intubated. Patients were controlled with ECG, pulse oxymeter noninvasive blood pressure, end tidal CO2 and measurements of sevoflurane concentration. Patients were separated randomly in two groups at the beginning of the surgical stimulus after intubation. ET sevoflurane were administered to group I in concentration of 2.5 % (n:20) and to groups II 4 % (n:20). At the beginning of surgical procedure, concentration of anaesthetic agent increased and succinylcholine added according to cough or movement. Patients compared according to additive succinylcholine and anaesthetic agents need and haemodynamic and respiratory complications. Eyelash loss was found 45 sc in group I and 43 sc in group II (p>0.05). The reaction to surgical stimulus was 30 percent in the group 4 % ET sevoflurane while it was 90 % in the ET sevoflurane 2.5 % group. The difference was considered significant. As a conclusion sevoflurane can be used in hyperconcentrations than previously given in literature.
