Özet

In our study we aimed to determine the effects and safety of sublingual midazolam, ketamine and alfentanil on children premedication. Sixty children, 2-7 years old were included in our study and were randomly allocated to four equal groups. Twenty minutes before the operation serum physiologic 2 cc, midazolam 0.3 mg/kg, ketamine 5 mg/kg, alfentanil 30 μg/kg sublingually were administered in Group 1, 2, 3, and 4; respectively. After induction of anesthesia with thiopenthal 4-7 mg/kg vecuronium 0.1 mg/kg IV anesthesia was maintained with isoflurane % 1 and 50% nitrous oxide in oxygen in all the groups. After monitoring the patients noninvasively systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressures, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and sedation scores were recorded just before the premedication and for 20 minutes after the premedication at an interval of 2.5 minutes. Children's leaving the mother and response to intravenous cannulation, pre and postoperative complications were also evaluated. As a result we concluded that midazolam and alfentanil, with their low postoperative complication rates, can be preferred to ketamine.
