Özet
Seasonal variation in the onset and relapse of ulcerative colitis have been studied with conflicting results. In this study; records of 124 patients with ulcerative colitis were evaluated. These patients were regularly observed by Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unit and no etiologic agent responsible for the relapses was established. 124 patients were held subject to case studies for a total of 1722 months. During this period 164 relapses and 113 onsets were reported. Our results showed that neither monthly nor seasonal incidence of onset and relapse of ulcerative colitis were statistically significant (respectively; p = 0.79, p = 0.90, p = 0.91, p = 0.87).
