Özet
Patients hospitalized in the ICU need support for their life functions, are not able to meet their own needs, and require special care. It is impossible to communicate with intensive care patients who require special care since they are unconscious or intubated (Azizpour et al., 2017). Monitoring the state of consciousness is important in critical patients in a coma. Coma scales are the classification scales that ensure objective assessment of the level of consciousness. These scales are considered a common international language in assessing consciousness. Coma scales give clues about the recovery processes of patients and guide the treatment and interventions (Tanriverdi, 2021).
