Özet

Somatostatin analogs, labelled with radionuclides, are of potential value in the localization of somatostatin-positive tumors. In this study, scintigraphy with In-111 pentetreotide was applied in 14 patients with various benign and malignant disorders. Accumulation of In-111 pentetreotide was observed in 9 patients (4 neuroendocrine tumors, 1 mammary carcinoma, 2 meningiomas, 1 sarcoidosis, 1 tuberculosis). We considered that, because of uptake of somastatin analogs in some of benign pathologies, somatostatin receptor imaging may not be useful in the diagnosis of the tumors and this method can be used to predict the effect of treatment with somatostatin analogs.
