Lipid and lipoprotein profile of breast fed, formula fed or mixed-fed 0-6-month-old babies

Özet
This study sought to determine the effects of early postnatal nourishment on babies' cholesterol, triglyceride and lipoprotein levels. Conducted at Haseki Education and Research Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey, the study involved 237 patients randomly selected from a group of families who applied to participate in the study. The babies were nourished with either breast milk, formula or a combination of both. Then, their cholesterol (TK), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL-C) levels were measured and compared.
