Özet
Introduction: Schuessler applied the first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 1992. Nowadays, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy is performed in a lot of medical centers all over the world. We are presenting the first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy application in our clinic. Case: We applied laparoscopic radical prostatectomy operation to a patient in our clinic. This patient was 65 years old, the serum PSA value was 14.6 ng/ml, the result of prostate biopsy showed prostate adenocarcinoma and gleason score was 5 (2+3). The laparoscopic radical prostatectomy was applied with retroperitoneal technique. We used three 10 mm and two 5 mm trocars and the operation time was 5.5 hours. The surgical margin was positive in the case. The urinary incontinence was treated by medical treatment. Conclusion: We performed the first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in our country. This showed us it is possible to apply this operation for appropriate cases in specific medical centers.
