Özet
Penicillin allergy is still a significant medical problem. Use of penicillin major and minor determinant skin tests identifies almost all patients at risk of an immediate reaction to penicillins. Minor determinant mixtures are prepared and standardized by some companies for clinical researches, however, they are not commercially available. In this article, penicillin-induced allergic reactions and immunologic responses were reviewed. In the light of recent observations and clinical trials, reliability of penicillin skin tests and suggestions on patient approach were evaluated.
