Özet
In our study we aimed to investigate the efficacy of ketorolac trometamine (KT) and diclofenac sodium (DS) given by IM route preoperatively, on fasciculations and myalgia and changes in plasma creatinin phosphokinase (CPK) and electrolytes seen following suxamethonium (Suxm.) administration, 30 patients of ASA I-II were included in this study. Group I patients (n=10) 2 mL of 0.9 % NaCl was given IM 30 minutes before the operation. To patients in group II (n=10) KT 30 mg 60 min before the operation and to patients in group III (n=10) DS 75 mg 30 min before the operation were given IM. In all cases anaesthesia induction was provided with 5 mg/kg of thiopentone and 1.5 mg/kg of Suxm. IV and maintenance was provided with isoflurane, N2O, O2 and vecuronium. Blood specimens were taken to determine the changes in plasma electolytes, before the induction. and at 1., 3., 5., 10th minutes after induction. For measuring CPK, blood specimens were taken before operation and at 24 and 48 hours after operation. The severity of Suxm-induced fasciculations after induction, severity of myalgias at 24 and 48 hours after the operation were scored numerically. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in the severity of fasciculations and myalgias although myalgia score were lower in KT group at 48 hours (p<0.05). At third minute potassium was significantly higher than the control values in the control group (p<0.05). As compared to the control values, in all groups CPK values were higher in the specimens taken at 24 and 48 hours postoperatively (p<0.05). In conclusion, although there were the severe fasciculations in cases given KT and DS, absence of myalgia related to them suggested that this agents were effective in preventing myalgia related fasciculations.
