Özet
Objective: Primary amenorrhea occurs in 0.1-2% in the reproductive age group. As more than 80% of primary amenorrhea are caused by Müllerian agenesis, gonadal dysgenesis or hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. The diagnosis was produced by only using simple clinical information which includes medical history, physical examination and reproductive hormonal profile. The aim of this study was to analyse the evaluation of the patients with primary amenorrhea. Material and Methods: The study was performed using 23 complete medical records of women with primary amenorrhea who attended the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, Bakirköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Teaching and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey from April 2010 to May 2012. Results: By the time of registration to our clinic, the median age of patients was 16.56±1.27. Clinical research was showed hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in 6 patients, primary gonadal failure in 5 patients, anovulation in 3 patients, congenital adrenal hyperplasia in one patient, transvers vaginal septum in one patient Rokitansky-Kuster-Mayer-Hauser syndrome in 3 patients and imperforated hymen in 4 patients. Conclusion: Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is the most prevalent cause of primary amenorrhea in our study and racial, genetic and environmental factors could play roles in the cause of primary amenorrhea.
