Özet
Purpose: The aim of the study was to present our series, comprising a consecutive sample of children with anorectal malformations treated over a period of 6 years. Method: Between 1998 and 2004, 57 patients with an anorectal malformation (19 females and 38 males) were admitted to our institution. Patient's data were reviewed according to demographic properties, initial management, operative reports, and early and long term outcomes. Results: Most of cases had an intermediate or high anomaly. Colostomy as initially management was done in all patients with intermediate and high anomalies in neonatal period, except females with vestibular fistula. A total 37 of 57 cases were repaired definitely, 18 of them were treated with a cutback or sacroperineal anaplasty, 9 boys received Mollard's anterioperineal pullthrough, 2 girls received Rehbein s mucosa-stripping endorectal pull-through, and remaining 8 patients received PSARP procedure. Constipation was detected in two patients with low anomalies, constipation or fecal incontinence developed in 4 patients with intermediate or high anomalies. Conclusion: In the management of anorectal malformations, one stage anorectoplasty without colostomy in boys with low anomalies and in girls with low or intermediate anomalies were preferred in our series. Both PSARP procedure and the abdominoperinal procedures in the repair of high anomalies were found successful.
