Özet
The superior mesenteric artery (SMA) syndrome is a rare cause of upper gastrointestinal obstruction. A case with acute onset of bilious vomiting and abdominal pain in whom superior mesenteric artery syndrome was diagnosed is presented. Consevative treatment must be performed initially. Surgical intervention is indicated, if medical treatment fails. Division of the ligament of Treitz to free the bound position of the duodenum and struck the duodenojejunal flexure downward is advocated during surgery.
