Özet
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the status of vitamin-iron usage and the related affecting factors in pregnancy. Material and Methods: Among patients admitted to obstetrics and gynecology outpatient clinics between April 2011 and October 2011, the questionnaire was conducted in 300 pregnant women who agreed to participate in the study by an interviewer nurse with the face-to-face meeting method. Results: The level of iron and vitamin usage in the patients included in the study was 78.3%. The use of iron and vitamin was found higher in housewives and in high income group (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was ascertained that the use of iron and vitamin in pregnancy was associated with nutritional status, personal habits and socio-economic level. As a result, the use of iron and vitamin in pregnant can be increased by giving a more detailed and individualized antenatal care.
