Özet
Nasal fractures are the most common craniofacial fractures and the third most common of all skeletal fractures. Nasal fractures constitute 40% of all facial fractures. The nose is often exposed to trauma as it is the most protruding part of the face in the midline (Hoffmann, 2015; Sindi et al., 2020; Wang et al., 2019). Fractures can occur due to many different reasons, such as road accidents, being hit, external trauma with an object, and falling. To reduce the need for revision surgery, it is necessary to accurately evaluate nasal bone fractures and treat them appropriately. Nasal fractures may also lead to significant or slight changes in the appearance of the nose and nasal airway obstruction. The most common symptoms and signs observed in nasal fractures are cosmetic deformities, epistaxis, and nasal obstruction. Nasal fractures are primarily diagnosed with a history and physical examination and supported by plain graphs and computed tomography (CT). As in any facial fracture, the treatment of nasal fractures is determined according to the severity of the fracture. In the case of a displaced fracture, closed or open reduction may be required. Here, it is primarily aimed to restore the shape and function of the nose with the least invasive method and reduce the need for subsequent surgery (Hoffmann, 2015; Hwang et al., 2017; Kim et al., 2018; Li et al., 2020; Schoinohoriti et al., 2017; Sindi et al., 2020).
