Özet

The results of intrapleural injections of ketorolac tromethamine were examined in rats with regard to histopathological criteria. 60 adult white rats were used in the study. Normal saline or talc or ketorolac tromethamine were injected into the intrapleural space under general anesthesia. Rats were scarified 10 hours and 10 days after the administrations. Biopsies were taken from different parts of right thoracic wall and right posterior lung and sent to pathological examination. Ten days later, mesothelial proliferations from slight to marked degree and foreign body granulation tissue formation were seen at ten rats that received intrapleural ketorolac tromethamine. In conclusion, our findings indicate that chemical irritation of inflammatory reaction can occur when ketorolac tromethamine is injected into the intrapleural space.
